A TRULY UNIQUE AND EXCEPTIONAL CHARACTER HOME: Retaining a wealth of original features and its delightful red brick facade, is this converted pub that is now a wonderful family home, superbly located on this residential road in E15.
Available for the first time in over 30 years is this family home that was formerly a Truman’s public house and believed to date back to 1904. It is a credit to its current owners, having been expertly and sympathetically converted by them.
Boasting over 3000 square feet of internal space, this Edwardian property showcases a wealth of character features throughout, such as the charming parquet flooring to the reception, a number of ornate fireplaces and original sash windows. Like many properties of this age, the house has fantastic ceiling height throughout, which only adds to the sense of space and grandeur.
To the ground floor is an expansive double aspect reception room that leads round to a large kitchen area that would please most cooks and finally onto a pleasant garden. The ground floor is completed by a study and guest bedroom with en suite bathroom. To the first floor is a generous master bedroom, three further double bedrooms, family bathroom and an additional WC.
The house further benefits from a substantial cellar that spans the almost the whole width and length of the ground floor, a huge loft space that could be converted (subject to the usual consents) and ample storage throughout.
Located on the corner of Corporation Street and Holbrook Road, this property is superbly positioned for the many famous amenities of E15, such as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Stratford Westfield, as well as popular local schools, shops and West Ham Park.
A vast array of transport options are on offer, with West Ham, Plaistow and Abbey Road Stations all within comfortable walking distance. London City Airport is also a short DLR or bus ride away, ideal for those who are travelling for leisure and business frequently.
The Vendors View
We’ve loved living here; the place has a warm, welcoming atmosphere which we felt the moment we first came here. Its size, has made it the perfect place to raise our family (and have brilliant parties!), but now that they’ve flown the nest, its much too big for the two of us and its time to move on.
